The Dusty Shed

So what is the Shed? Based around the Men In Sheds principle, an initiative that is well established in Australia and Ireland, the β€œShed” is basically somewhere for generally men to go to undertake practical activities such as wood work, metal work, electronics or anything else that those attending wish to do. It is only limited by peoples imagination (one shed in France is restoring a WW2 tank!). Although primarily aimed at older men as it has been shown that this section of society are particularly susceptible to depression etc as they move from employment to retirement, and particularly for whatever reason they find themselves on their own, it is open to all. This project aims to get us out of the house/flat, meeting others and making friends, learning new skills, utilising existing ones, sharing these skills and making a positive contribution to the community and others.

We were very fortunate recently to be awarded a grant from Viridor to widen our doors and fit a scrutiny shutter. This is due to be undertaken this Thursday!
As a result of meeting up with Viridor we have two dates for tours of the incinerator in Cardiff Bay to see how they receive and process the waste from Cardiff and beyond.
Both tours start at 10am for around one and half hours and are on Thursday 13th and Saturday 29th July.
If you fancy coming along please give me a shout on 07795 640324 or via email Dave
