Rhyl Mens Shed

Rhyl Men's Shed is for men (18+) to potter, do 'guy stuff', have a brew & a chat! Any background, any capability; We dont judge!! Mission To Provide a community Men's Shed facility that enables men (18+), with or without experience in life, skills or specific areas of expertise to come together to pursue hobbies & interests, undertake community projects or just talk to 'men mates' in order to stave off loneliness & facilitate longer, happier, healthy lives. Description The Rhyl Men's Shed provides a safe, supportive & friendly environment for men of all ages, backgrounds and capabilities to gather together and potter, tend the garden and poly-tunnel, do woodwork, craft and art projects (or whatever else we are interested in). We can learn, pass on knowledge, chat and make new friends. If we don't feel like working, that's OK too. We can play / do research on the laptops, read the paper (if someone brings one in) or have a chat, (or quiet chill) and a brew! We decide amongst ourselves what will happen on a daily, weekly and seasonal basis. The shed is run by the men for the men. We do not judge. We are individuals who have a right to be treated fairly and equally. Bullying and harassment is not tolerated. A supportive element is there to help us to promote and stabilise our mental, physical, emotional and economic well being. Care/support workers are welcome to come along and/or stay with their service users (and of course, to lend a hand!) The Rhyl Men's Shed open door policy means that we do not exclude any man (age 18+) on the basis of race, ability/disability, religion or age within the context of the groups existence and aims. We strive to maintain a safe physical environment and an inclusive and supportive social environment, but accept that certain restrictions may need to be put in place for the Health & Safety of the individual and the Shed as a whole. We do our utmost to be inclusive and make adjustments where it is feasible, safe and financially viable to do so. The rights and the decisions of individuals are respected at all times as is their privacy and confidentiality. You do not have to be referred to come along and join us though some of our members have joined us through a referral, be it a friend, a friend of a friend or through another organisation such as Communities First, Social Services, Support Workers or the NHS. Rhyl Men's Shed was the first Community Shed to be established in North Wales and has been in existence since September 2013. It is funded by the generosity of grants and donations (plus attendees contribute £1 per session towards the refreshments fund). The organisation is fully insured and constituted. Now you know a little about us, why not come along and see what it's all about for yourself! The Moon Time Project

Sadly in our current climate many people are forced to turn Food Banks as a way of life and recent research has shown that many women and young girls are struggling to afford female hygiene products that are an absolute necessity.
We at 4TC recognise that this is an issue and so we have set up The Moon Time Project.
The projects aim is to make that time of the month less of a burden for those Women. We plan to have set times where discret Moon Packs can be collected free of charge for those that need them.

We are appealing to members of our local community to be kind enough to donate the following products at one of our drop off points.
We are hoping to gain a stock of Sanitary products Tampons Pads etc. Deodorant, Shower gel, Moisturiser, Shampoo, Conditioner, Tooth Paste, Tooth Brushes and Hair Brushes. We have set up a couple of drop off points already in the community and hope to expand on this with others in the community offering to have one of our donation boxes on their premises. Our currant drop off Points are St Marys Church and The Community House Wellington road Rhyl and Charovskis nail Salon Wellington Road Rhyl. If anyone would be kind enough to help with more drop off points please let me know. Thank you in advance Jayne Marie Katy x
