Knighton Men’s Shed

Knighton  Mens Shed is a registered Charity number1176398. It has a fully functional joinery workshop that now has 30 members. We operate the only tool repair and sharpening service in a 20 mile radius, make many diverse wildlife habitats for sale and offer a furniture repair service and bespoke timber items on request. We engage with other local charities and community groups to find ways of bringing our knowledge and expertise to as wide an audience as possible. Recent assistance to the community includes providing 14 geo cache boxes to the Offas Dyke Center that have been placed along the southern route of the footpath. We have provided 20 swift boxes to the Presteigne swift society to try to stem the diminishing number of swifts in the area due to loss of habitat. We have erected a shed and built an extension from collided woodland for the Knight on Tree and Allotment trust and also erected a shed for a local toddler group to store their playthings.  We will be attending a number of fetes and carnivals in the area over the summer months.

We have been able assisted in being able to do this this with grants from the Lottery, Tesco Bags  of Money and Asda Groundworks. This has also helped us to make alterations and improvements to our premises.
