Ageing Well in Wales – Welshpool 14 Jul 2017

Malcolm Worth, Joint Chair Men’s Shed Cymru Association & Simon Poole, Men’s Sheds Cymru Advocate attended the Ageing Well in Wales event in Welshpool, organised by the Older Peoples Commissioner for Wales. Our aim was to inform about the Men’s Sheds concept and explain the progress made since the start of the Men’s Sheds Cymru project. Encouragingly most had heard of Men’s Sheds and hopefully Simon will be able to setup new groups in the Welshpool area.

Women’s Shed opens in Rhyl

The significant thing about Rhyl Men’s Shed is membership from a wide age range. Differing activities are offered so that the wide range of tastes are catered for. The Men’s Shed is on Mondays and Tuesdays 10am until 3pm. £1 subs and £1 for a meal. From age 18 to 118.

The Women’s Shed that is open Wednesdays 10am until 2pm. £2 for subs and lunch. Again age 18 to 118 different abilities, different skills, different interests.

Treorchy Men’s Shed Open Day 14th July 2017

A fine meat feast down in Treorchy this afternoon (with a side salad of Doddy Fixers into the bargain)…was an absolute delight to see the polytunnel and raised beds in full bloom. Outstanding efforts everyone…your hard work and commitment has clearly paid off and your shed is as well established as your onions! Haha

Squirrel’s Nest Celebration Day 13th July 2017

Great turnout at the Squirrel’s Nest, Tondu for their Celebration Day. Music, Pyrography and a mobile Smithy were on site to have a go at or just watch.
Plenty of food for all and a display in their new larger unit of the items made by the members of the “nest”
